What is the cost? the registration fee is $300.00.
How long is the season? The season begins on August 2nd and practices will be held 5 days/week until the first game kicks off on Sept. 11th. Games are played each Saturday for 8 weeks and Playoffs begin Nov. 6thfor 3 additional weeks. The National Championship is held in Orlando in early December 2010. Practices and Scrimmages are not allowed over the Labor Day weekend.
Practices and Scrimmages. Peninsula Youth Football and Cheer offers a practice program and location for each team to prepare for their upcoming games. After the draft is completed each player receives their practice schedule and locations. Peninsula and the PCC offers each team a variety of preseason scrimmage opportunities.
How many games will our players get to play? There is a game approximately every Saturday throughout the season, typically scheduled against a different team within the PCC. The PCC is the largest local competitive conference with over 12 local city leagues at all levels.
Who are our opponents? We play against local comparable and competitively matched city leagues that all belong to the same conference, the Pacific Coast Conference. For further information as to the participating cities and/or about the PCC go to www.pcc.com.
Is there long distance travel during the season to get to games? Our opponents are local cities. Each team usually has a mix of home and away games. The longest trip would be to our furthest competitive city within the conference which would be less than 60 minutes away making every game accessible for all our players extended family, friends and fans to attend.
When are the games? Saturdays. Typically younger players play first and the last games are scheduled at 4pm unless there are lights.
Where and when are the practices? Locally. There will be two practice schedules. The first schedule is for practices before school starts which is typically mid afternoon and Saturday morning. An in-school schedule will be sent out for later afternoon hours after school and Sundays. You will receive a practice schedule and location after the draft based upon which team your player is drafted to.
Who are the coaches? All coaching staff are volunteer parents and/or related students and adults with experience in youth sports. All coaching staff must pass a background check and attend training classes. Peninsula also offers an opportunity to teams to work with experienced coaches and workshops from time to time.
Do we need to buy their helmet/pads etc.? No. All helmets, pads, practice pants, practice jersey and game uniforms are supplied by Peninsula Youth Football and Cheer for use during the season and turned in at the end of the year.
