About Us:
Peninsula Youth Football & Cheer (PYF) was established to offer a local competitive football and cheer program to youths 6 to14 years old.
Peninsula Youth Football & Cheer offers our youth the wonderful experience of playing competitive football against local cities in an environment that fosters development of our players and coaches. PYF provides a common goal among all our cities to offer committed families and children a healthy forum in which to develop not only as football players and cheerleaders, but as our community’s future leaders.
Peninsula Youth Football and Cheer believes that while not everyone may be competitive, as children mature into young adults, the personal experience they get playing in a competitive league, including sacrifice, teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication, commitment and hard work playing alongside people who share a common love of the game will benefit them tremendously. The opportunity to mold good character in these children will help them deal with challenges and adversities they will face throughout their lives.
It is with this in mind that the Peninsula Youth Football League is steadfast in our goal of taking Peninsula Youth Football and Cheer, as a member of the Pacific Coast Conference an affiliate of American Youth Football, to children throughout our community who want an opportunity to play. The Pacific Coast Conference is comprised of 14 cities throughout the South Bay and extended local communities.
Members of Peninsula Youth Football & Cheer, teams have multiple competitive opportunities to experience the game to its fullest. These opportunities include:
American Youth Football. AYF is the largest youth football organization in the country, with over 500,000 players.
Pacific Coast Conference. In the PCC, Peninsula Youth Football & Cheer teams will have the opportunity to compete with 14 local community city teams.
AYF National Championship. Championship and runner-up teams from across the country will be able to travel to Orlando, Florida to compete for the coveted National Championship to be held in early December 2010. The National Championship now also offers a consolation division, in which non-championship teams will also be allowed to compete in Orlando if they chose to take advantage of this opportunity.
Junior Rose Bowl. The PCC Junior Rose Bowl tournament hosted over 40 local and regional teams this season and plans to expand their reach to all AYF leagues in the Southwest United States next season. Plans are to host 80-100 teams at local venues on Thanksgiving weekend 2010.
